Data Transfer Setup

Configure Tray Tag Type and Mailer ID:

  1. From the Tagger's Main Menu screen, press "1" for On Demand Tags.

  2. The Tagger's On Demand Tags screen will display. Select 5 for System Settings.

  3. The Tagger's System Settings screen will display. Select 1 for Tag Selections.

  4. The Tagger's Tag Selections screen will display. Select 1 for Tray Tag Type.

  5. Select 1 again to set the tray tag type to IMTL.

  6. From the Tag Selections screen, select 7 for Tag Options.

  7. The Tag Options screen will display. Select 1 to set the Extraneous Line to YES - if DAT-MAIL has been set to export extraneous line information.

We are moving from reference of "Extraneous Line" to "Printer Line (top of label)" to match the USPS terminology used in their tag specification. DTAC's Mail.dat Specification refers to this line as "User Info Line 1".

  8. Press PREV until the Main Menu screen is displayed.

  9. From the Tagger's Main Menu screen, press 1 for On Demand Tags.

  10. The Tagger's On Demand Tags screen will display. Select 3 for Mailer Information.

  11. The Tagger's Mailer Information screen will display. Select 1 to enter a MID and enter one of your Company’s six or nine digit MID’s. We recommend that you use a MID that is not usually used to generate tray tags to avoid any possible conflict with other data sources.

  12. You can now press PREV to get back out and display the Main Menu screen.

Set Log File Location:

  1. To do this you must load a Mail.dat. Go to the Mail.dat Function screen.

  2. From the Mail.dat Function screen, select 7 for AFSO 3.4 (DAT-MAIL).

  3. The AFSO 3.4 (DAT-MAIL) screen will display. Option 6 displays the Log File Location screen and lets you set whether the files the Tagger will export to DAT-MAIL will be on a network share (option 1), the Tagger’s own share (option 2) or on a USB drive (option 3). Select options 1 or 2 as appropriate.

  4. The first time you try to print a sibling tray tag or split a tray, the Tagger will ask you if you want to create the folder. This is always going to be the '\LOGS' folder of the share the Tagger is reading the data from.
