PostalWeb Desktop Dashboard(PWDD) - Installation Guide

Getting Started

All of the prerequisites have been installed, when you installed either Scheduler or PostalWeb Connector (PWC). If you are a DAT-MAIL user, hopefully you already installed PWDD, but if not, please follow along.

If you are not a DAT-MAIL user and have the PostalWeb Suite, PWC must be installed first. See PostalWeb Connector™(PWC) - Installation Guide to install PWC.

Component Installation Sequence

This section of the Guide is for new users or the first-time installation of PWDD.

There are four different installation scenarios involving the various PWDD’s software solution configurations:

  1. PWDD as a stand-alone system utilizing PostalWeb Connector with the MDR Client.

  2. PWDD as a stand-alone system utilizing PostalWeb Connector with the MDR Client and PostalWeb.

  3. PWDD with DAT-MAIL and the Automation Scheduler, utilizing PostalWeb Connector with the MDR Client.

  4. PWDD with DAT-MAIL and the Automation Scheduler, utilizing PostalWeb Connector with the MDR Client, and PostalWeb.

The installation sequence for the individual components that make up each PWDD solution configuration differs depending on the above installation scenarios. Below is a table that outlines the recommended installation sequences for each (the ‘Installation Scenarios’ called out in the table below coincide with the list above).

Component Installation Location & Requirements

You can install the various software components available as part of the different PWDD solution configurations noted above in a stand-alone environment or as part of a server- with-workstations environment.

Suppose a Client is installing in a stand-alone environment. In that case, the installation requirements are simple all the software components will be installed on a stand-alone and use local drives for the installation paths.

The installation location and other requirements for a server-with-workstations environment differ slightly and are defined in Order of Installation.
