Barcode Uniqueness

  • Clients have the option to log containers (pallets) and handling units (trays and sacks) barcodes automatically.

    • If another job already submitted to PostalOne! has identical barcodes, DAT-MAIL warns you that duplicate barcodes exist.

    • If you receive a new Mail.dat for a job, before submitting it to PostalOne!, the system links the new barcodes to the job. Thus, performing a barcode lookup or using wbSCAN prevents using the old version of the job. Also, a revision number appears to notify you of a new Mail.dat for a job, another way for users to know there is a new version.

  • DAT-MAIL can store the piece barcodes. You can search for piece barcodes to determine if the job is in DAT-MAIL and what job it is.

  • DAT-MAIL can generate and track barcodes for trays, sacks, and pallets.

  • DAT-MAIL can create and track sibling container barcodes and new pallet barcodes to prevent duplication of barcodes.

If creating siblings or pallets or overwriting container barcodes, request a new MID to use exclusively in DAT-MAIL to prevent duplication with container barcodes created in the presort software.
