Planalyzer - Options Available

Some of the options are covered as the steps to assigning entry points is being performed; this provides a more expansive list of options and reviews ones already covered.

Entry Rules: This determines what facility types will be considered. It will also look at mail class and shape, so if a class or shape is not eligible to go to a facility type, such as Letters not going to a FSS, these facilities will be ignored.

Select Freight Table:It is used to load an existing freight table to optimize entry points. Also, a freight table can be created (inserted).

Shipping Report: After a freight table is loaded, you can run a report to see a logistics Company's freight cost with the entry points already set in the file.

View Freight Table: After a freight table is loaded, you can open the table to view and change information.

Edit: After a freight table is loaded, you can open the Update Records screen to change defaults such as the Fuel Surcharge without having to view the freight table.

  • Additional Check Boxes (options):

  • Claim Co-located Discounts: If the SCF is colocated at the NDC, the mail can be combined on one 8125 showing the NDC as the entry point, but claim SCF discount for the mail that qualifies as SCF.
  • Enter loose containers at Origin: If any sacks or trays are not palletized, this will assign the entry point as Origin.
  • Send Origin Containers Priority Mail Open & Distribute: This option allows you to improve delivery of mail or postage savings of mail too low in volume to drop ship based on the minimums and additional settings.

    PMOD Options:

    • Process Only Origin records: This option is to only consider mail that is marked as Origin, it will ignore all other mail when considering PMOD. If this checkbox is not selected, it will look at all mail.

      • Prioritize on Delivery even if there is no postage savings, if possible send PMOD.

      • Prioritize on Postage Savings do not send PMOD if no postage savings.

  • Skip MxNDC pallets (except courtesy pallets): If this option is selected, these pallets will be skipped and remain as their current entry point.

Protect Origin Pallets: If pallets already marked as Origin should not be considered for drop shipping, select this option to leave them at Origin.

  • Exclude PR/HI/AK: This will exclude Puerto Rico, Hawaii and Alaska mail from drop shipping.

  • Send non-qualifying Mxd trays/sacks Origin: Choose this option, if trays or sacks that include Single Piece should not be drop shipped for Marketing Mail.

  • Auto Calculate Mailing Date: Choose this option to determine when the mail should be shipped, see DAT-MAIL Planalyzer - Auto-Calculate Mailing Date for more information.

  • Print Postage Comparison: When optimizing entry points, see what the savings would have been if not entry points had changed and then see savings after the change.

Mark for Copal: If you are participating in a copal program, this provides you control over what you will drop ship directly and what will be part of a copal program. It also has the ability to create courtesy pallets for the copal portion of the mail and mark the Mail.dat appropriately for the USPS and the logistics company, so they know what portion of the job is in a copal.
