Supported SQL Server Versions

Window Book follows the Microsoft publicly announced End of Support schedules for various operating and server configurations that Window Book products utilize. Window Book follows Microsoft's Extended Support "End Date" to sunset support for Operating Systems and SQL Servers. Once Microsoft no longer provides Extended Support, any security or other issues that arise Window Book cannot provide support.

Window Book Supports SQL Enterprise, Standard, and Express

Please make sure to install SQL with Advanced Services, NOT the Core version.

SQL can be local on the server with your Window Book, Inc. products, or you can use one that you currently have running elsewhere.

Please make sure the server SQL resides on is running the most current service packs and cumulative updates.

Window Book Currently Supports these MS SQL Server Versions

  • EXPIRED BY Window Book, Inc. (see below): SQL Server 2014 SP 2 (Extended Support expires on 01/13/2020 (end-of-life))** (see below)

  • EXPIRING SOON BY Window Book, Inc. (see below): SQL Server 2014 SP 3 (Standard Support expires on 07/09/2024 (end-of-life))** (see below)

PLEASE UPGRADE to SQL 2019 (or at a minimum SQL 2016). This may require an update to your Server OS (if not 2012 OS or higher already).

The SQL Server Management Studio is no longer installed with SQL Server 2016 (and newer), and must be installed separately (refer to SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).

All "end-of-life" information is as of March 2020. Microsoft controls these dates and is subject to change. Microsoft publishes news regarding the end of its support for various platforms. When Microsoft stops supporting systems, they no longer provide updates or security patches for these products. Using these products after they are no longer supported subjects you to performance issues and security risks. Refer to the Microsoft End Of Life listing at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/search/1163 and https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/search/1044 for details about the end of life for the products listed here. For additional information about 'end-of-life', refer to the Microsoft End of Life Information page.
