TrueAddress®(TA) OnPrem - Windows Installation Guide

Purpose

The purpose of this document is to provide installation instructions for the on-prem version of TA; specifically in a Windows environment.

Use instructions are provided in the TrueAddress®(TA) - OnPrem User Guide.

Product-Specific Requirements for Use

  • Windows 10 operating system (recommended) (Pro only) or Windows Server 2012 R2 (or newer – 2016 is the recommended platform).

  • 64-bit system (TA will not run on 32-bit systems).

  • Memory: 16-GB (with FSP – 32-GB preferred).

  • Number of cores and processor speeds is up to the Client; however, performance will relate directly to what is allocated. TA allows up to 127 threads, so even a server with many logical processors can be kept busy.

  • The TA footprint for CASS (and the optional EWS) is 4-GB. The footprint increases with the inclusion of NCOA, the size of which is dependent on the type of license:

    • LSP Data: Add 4-GB

    • ANK Data: Add 6-GB and/or

    • FSP Data: Add 8 or 9-GB

  • On the server or computer where TA is being installed, Microsoft Visual C + + 2015 through 2019 must be installed, first (64-bit only). These prerequisites will automatically be installed by the TA installer wizard if the Client so chooses. The Client can opt out of having the wizard automatically install the prerequisites; at which point, the Client will need to manually install them before running the TA installation wizard.

Installing Visual C++ 2015 – 2019 will uninstall 2015 – 2017 or 2015. This is normal behavior, as the new library supersedes the previous one.

  • A registration file is required to be able to run TA once it is installed. The registration file is provided by Window Book. If the Client intends to run NCOA, the Client must provide a Site License ID to Window Book before the registration file is created/issued.

  • Clients (not individual users) must have their own login ID and password to obtain the necessary CASS data updates that occur each week (and EWS data updates, which occur monthly). The login ID and password will be provided to the Client by Window Book.

  • An SFTP client is required for downloading the CASS and EWS data. For the purpose of this Guide, Window Book recommends WinSCP (https://winscp.net/eng/index.php).

  • Each Client must have an individual(s) on site that is familiar with SFTP file transfer.

  • For Clients intending to use NCOA, the USPS dictated NCOA data update requirements must be adhered to by the Client. NCOA data updates are not the responsibility of Window Book and TA.

  • Creation/editing of XML files requires XML editing software. Any preferred XML editor will suffice.

  • A basic knowledge of XML file creation is necessary.

For information on the general system requirements for Window Book products, refer to the Window Book Product Requirements Guide.
