Updating NCOA Data
TrueAddress (TA) relies on having access to current CASS, EWS, and NCOALink data. TA provides updates of the CASS data monthly and the EWS data, weekly. The Client is responsible for downloading and extracting the provided updates to TA’s data directory. Updated NCOALink data is provided to licensees by the USPS weekly or monthly, depending on the terms of their license agreement.
Steps to Update NCOA Data:
-
Delete contents of the ‘NCOA_Data’ folder.
-
Download and extract the USPS NCOA data to the ‘NCOA_Data’ directory on the server or computer where TA is installed.

-
At the prompt, C:\WB\TrueAddress\NCOA_DATA> type C:\WB\TrueAddress\Extract_NCOA_DB .Y (note, there is a space before “ .Y” above)
-
USPS NCOA Dailydel data should be downloaded each day before you run any NCOA jobs and replace the file in the ‘C:\WB\TrueAddress\NCOA_Data’ directory on the server.
Window Book does not provide the necessary NCOALink data and is therefore not responsible for the update of the NCOALink data in TA. Clients should refer to their specific licensee performance requirements dictated by the USPS for determining how they are to receive their NCOALink data, when it should be updated, and all other NCOA data management requirements.
