Advanced Navigator - Floating Tab - Other Mail.dat Files - PDR

An explanation of the menus and icon bar is shown below the print screen:

Menus

File menu: Can be used to Exit the view. If opened using View > Piece Detail File (pdr), this can be used to open another Mail.dat, export the Mail.dat you have open, access the split utility to split your job or exit this view.

View menu: This is not applicable in this view. If opened using View > Piece Detail File (pdr), this provides full access to the Advanced Navigator View menu.

Related menu: Provides access to other Mail.dat views that are linked to the Piece Detail records.

  • Highlight a piece record and then go to Related > Special Fees File, and you will see any special fee linked to the highlighted piece. Also, you can Insert, Change and Delete the Special Fees records. Here is an example of a Special Fee.

  • Highlight a piece record and then go to Related > Un-coded Parcel Address File, and you will see a record linked to the highlighted piece for a parcel job. Also, you can make changes to the Un-coded Parcel Address File View records. However, the job we are viewing is letter mail, so parcels are not relevant.

  • Highlight a piece record and then go to Related > Special Fees Barcode File, and you will see any special fee barcode linked to the piece. For example, this file would be a parcel barcode, so there would be no records in this job.

  • Highlight a piece record and then go to Related > Referenceable Mail File, and you will see whether there is any campaign being done for Informed Delivery.

Tag Piece Detail menu: The same functions are available on the icon bar at the top of the screen to mark records.

Tag Piece Detail Menu in PDR View

Tag Options on the Icon Bar of the PDR View

  • Tag Piece Detail is the single red checkmark, which tags the piece highlighted.

  • Tag All Piece Detail is the double red checkmark.

  • UnTag All Piece Detail is the double red checkmark with a black line.

  • Tag by Range is the same as Tag by Range. You can specify a range for either Container ID or Piece ID to select or deselect piece records.

Reports menu: Provides the ability to run the reports available in the Advanced Navigator without exiting the Piece Detail File View.

Utilities menu: This allows you partial access to the Advanced Navigator Utilities menu. If using View > Piece Detail File (pdr), the complete Utilities menu is available.

Help menu: Window Book has the Help menu in just about every view, so you can create a support ticket without exiting the view. Like our other help menu, it includes checking for a new release of DAT-MAIL and accessing the User Guide.

Icon Bar
