Known Undocumented Log (KUL) - Import Log Entries

This Import feature is efficient if you have already recorded KUL barcodes in a spreadsheet or CSV file (we support comma and semi-colon delimiters). Each row in the Excel or CSV file will create a KUL so that you can create multiple logs simultaneously. For example, if you have multiple ranges of undocumented piece IMbs in one job or mailing, this will save you from manually entering multiple logs for the mailing.

  1. Go to the Navigation Panel and select Known Undocumented Log.

  2. Click Import when the Known Undocumented Log page displays.

  3. The Import KUL screen will appear. Click anywhere on tile labeled 1. Select a file.

After creating a template or templates, they can be selected from the Available import templates drop-down list.

  4. A file can be dragged and dropped into the file box. Or click anywhere in the box. If your file has headers, check the Please check the box if your file contains headers check box. Select either Excel or CSV for the File Type. If it is a CSV file, select the Delimiter of either Comma or Semicolon as the delimiter. When ready, click Continue.

  5. Now you need to map the IMAP fields to your file's fields. You have two options: Option A (by IMb) or Option B (by Serial Number). You need to select the fields based on whether you are provide the IMbs or the serial numbers. The file has the MID and beginning and ending serial numbers in our example. In both options, Job ID and Mail Date are required fields that need to be in either your spreadsheet or CSV file. The other fields under Option A and Option B must be mapped. And if you have other fields, you can map the ones that apply.

  6. Once you have your file mapped to the fields available, select the Save template as a check box and enter a Template name. When ready to continue, click Import.

Please see the Description of Log Entry Fields. Then, use your browser back button to return to this page.

After import, you can edit each of the entries to add any optional information.

  7. After you click Import, you will see the Success!! confirmation, click OK.

  8. The In Progress tab of the Known Undocumented Log will appear. Make any edits by clicking on the KUL.

  9. To update the Entry Details, for example, to set the KUL Category - Pub 685, click Edit Details.

If you have additional documentation in a file, click Upload Document to select and upload the file.

  10. In this example, we added the total pieces and postage, selected the KUL Category - Pub 685, and used Internal Field #1 for the 'Mail Owner Name'. When you complete editing the Entry, click Next.

  11. Review your changes, if you have entered all the required information, click Mark as Complete. If you need to return to this Entry and make additional edits or upload a document, click Done.

  12. In this example, we clicked Done since we will add additional information later. When you return to the Known Undocumented Log, you will see your changes. Once you have completed your edits, you can navigate to another page or Log Out.

To see the messages received when you select Done, Mark as Complete, or Delete Entry, click on any preceding links. Then, you can use your browser back button to return to this page.
