Enterprise Shipper®(ES) - Installation Guide

Purpose

The purpose of this document is to provide first-time installation instructions for ES. After installation, refer to the Enterprise Shipper®(ES) - Setup Guide, and user instructions are in the Enterprise Shipper®(ES)- User Guide.

Installation Requirements

Multiple installations of ES can exist in one location (separate registration keys are required for each). The first installation should be considered and is referred to as a 'server' installation. Additional installations are called workstation installs. We will refer to this as a server-with workstation install.

When installing to a workstation, it must point to or use the same data source (SQL Server WBES database) as the "server" installation.

  • Before installation, it is necessary to look at product requirements. If you have not already reviewed , do so now. For system requirements, see Product Specific Requirements, Enterprise Shipper (ES).

  • Install all prerequisites shown on the ES download page.

  • You need Window Book generated product registration keys (contact Window Book Client Services Team, see Contact Us) before installing the software.

  • Internet access must be available on the computers where you are installing ES.

  • To enable the package tracking and notification feature in ES, Clients must have a registered PostalWeb site (PWN). Once the site is registered, Clients need to contact Support, see Contact Us, to enable the "eDocs" feature on the PWN server for them.

  • Your Company's PWN site must be provisioned in ES for the system to begin processing tracking information for USPS packages. If not adding PWN, then you may wish to add Tracking Contact Information to enable notifications. We will cover provisioning and tracking contact information in the Enterprise Shipper®(ES) - Setup Guide

  • The technology behind International Bridge's website is Angular. Clickthis link https://v6.angular.io/guide/browser-support to see a list of supported web browsers.

  • Users must have an International Bridge ACH or credit card1 payment account, an EasyPost account, or a Pitney Bowes payment account for purchasing labels. Instructions for setting up one or more of these payment accounts refer to the Enterprise Shipper®(ES) - Setup Guide.

Installation

The ES software must be downloaded, installed, and registered. After the installation and registration are complete, some software setup is also required before using the application. Multiple installations of ES can exist in one location (separate registration keys are needed for each). Again, the first installation should be considered a 'server' installation. Additional installations are called workstation installs, which need to point to the same SQL Server WBES database.

Each workstation must point to the same SQL Server WBES database as the server installation when installing workstations.

When updates to the software become available, you will need to run it on the server and each workstation. Running different software versions when using the same SQL Server may cause performance issues and database errors, and in some cases, may cause the application to become inoperable.
