PostalOne! Create a Release - Original File

This transaction will generate the Qualification Report on PostalOne! when uploaded via PostalWeb Connector (PWC) or the MDR Client. Some companies want to post the Qualification Report in advance of the mailing. If this is not you, skip this page and move to PostalOne! - Release Mail - Other Options.

Ensure your permit information is correct before submission. If you have to change it after this submission, you will have to submit a Cancel Job and then resubmit the original file before paying postage.

  1. Open your job in the Advanced Navigator View and click Validation Info in the horizontal pane. This option is to double-check if there were any PostalOne! errors during Import.

  2. The Browse MDErrorLog File window will display any errors. When ready, click Close.

If you see any messages related to a field needing to be right-justified, DAT-MAIL fixes this when exporting the release file.

  3. If there are no errors, close the log and then click Release Mail. Click PostalOne! Releases in the horizontal panel of the Advanced Navigator. You can also go to the DAT-MAIL main menu select PostalOne! > Generate PostalOne! Release File. The Mail.dat Files Listing window will open to select the job from the list.

  4. Both options bring you to the PostalOne! Release Mail window. Select Create a Release. This function will create the release file that is the same as a PostalOne! Original file.

If your file already has a CSM Container Status of P-Preliminary or R-Ready-to-Pay, you will need to change this status to blank before submitting it to PostalOne!. Removing the Container Status can be done on import, or if you do not update files on import, you will need to access the Release Mail screen and click Reset All. If the status is not removed, you will either post a preliminary postage statement or live statement on the PostalOne! Dashboard.

  5. An Export Mail.dat file progress bar will appear on the screen. Depending on the size of your file, it may take a few moments to finish. When the Exported dialog displays, click OK to close.

  6. If you are using the PostalWeb Suite, you will see two things the Release Type of "Original" and, after a moment, the PostalOne! Release Status column show "Qual Report Generated."

If not using the PostalWeb Suite, you will need to check the MDR Client or log on to the BCG to view your PostalOne! Dashboard.

  7. You are done with submitting the Qualification Report. You are ready to pay postage.
