Settings > Optional Settings > Address Validation Settings
Clicking the Address Validation Settings in Optional Settings launches theTrueAddress Validation Settings window.
-
Using the TrueAddress (TA) validation engine is free; however, you must create/register your own TA account and enter the TA login credentials in the TrueAddress Validation Settings window.
Click Register to Use to register with TA and obtain the necessary login credentials for using it in ES. A web browser will launch, and the Company Sign Up screen will display.
-
Once you have the TA login credentials, select the Use TrueAddress for address validation checkbox.
-
Secondly, when the TrueAddress Credentials checkbox is selected, a Prompt dialog will display. Enter the User Name and Password created during the registration of TA and click Validate and Save.
If the credentials entered are incorrect, an error will display. Re-enter the credentials and click Validate and Save again. If the credentials are validated, the Prompt dialog will close, saving the credentials in ES.
Previously entered credentials are not displayed in ES and cannot be viewed. If the TrueAddress Credentials checkbox is deselected and then reselected, a blank Prompt will appear, requiring the user to re-enter a set of valid TA credentials.
If, for whatever reason, users want to turn off or disable the TA address validation function temporarily, uncheck the Use TrueAddress for Address Validation checkbox ONLY (leave the TrueAddress Credentials enabled). Doing so will allow users to resume using the TA address validation function without re-entering the login credentials.
-
When you start to use TA, Window Book recommends selecting the Simplified Error Display checkbox. Also, leave the Deliverability Threshold Score option set to the default "3." Once you understand how each option works (refer to Settings > Optional Settings > Address Validation Settings for more information), you can revise these settings.
Clients can take advantage of Window Book's TrueAddress validation engine that goes beyond only providing whether the address is valid. Instead, it gives both validation results in detail and a deliverability score based on a threshold set.
For more information about validation result reporting and the available deliverability score thresholds, refer to Address Validation - Validation Score/Status.
